Manufacture or import of all pressure equipment used in Malaysia shall be certified by an authorized third party inspection agency as a "inspection authority" of the Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) to design, manufacture and inspect the process. Products that are not certified by the DOSH Authorized Authority will be refused entry by the Malaysian Customs.

DOSH certification scope

The following non-fire pressure vessels require design approval

1.Gas tank

2. Autoclaves

3. liquefied petroleum gas cylinders

4. Heat exchanger

5. Pressure vessel in petrochemical plant

The following steam boilers must be registered

1. Water pipe boiler

2. cupping boiler

3. electric boiler

4. Waste heat boiler

Other registration requirements

Although oil heaters and hot water boilers do not produce steam, they must also be registered.
